This one time, at home… I needed a change.

I’ve been saying for a few months now that I wanted to change up my hair. I have been growing it out for almost 4 years after deciding to try the ‘Posh’ cut (not nearly as cute when you are not 80lbs soaking wet), and it had been quite dark for some time. I have always had a love affair with red hair, for as long as I can remember. I would have red highlights put in it, then go back to dark, then all red, then red chunks, then back to dark, then to blonde etc etc.

Are you seeing a pattern here? I like to have fun with my hair, and as a licensed hairstylist, I have been fortunate to have everything at my fingertips to make that happen. So when I made the decision to break my boring brown hair streak, it was as easy as running to the local professional supply store and getting the color I needed. Added bonus: it only cost me $8.00 for that professional color na na na na na na!

Yup, I'm putting this on the internet...

I'm a superhero!

Final result was freaking AWESOME. I was shocked, and totally unsure. It was so different and more vibrant than I was prepared for, but I knew that I loved it right away. Red just feels right on me. I feel fun, sassy, warmer and dare I say sexier? It’s such a fun color and so ME. I walked around with it like this today, got a lot of looks and 2 women stopped me to ask where I had it done because they loved it. Ego boost? Yes please.

However, after some thought and examination, I knew that this color was going to fade crazy fast, (remember that thing about liking to change my hair? Ya, damaged hair means color washes out super easily) so I decided to throw on a semi permanent gloss over it to deepen the color a bit and add some richness. and now? I REALLY love it. So there you go, new Krystal.

And then I toned it down

(it’s actually quite a bit more red than it looks in this picture, I’ll have to get a better shot tomorrow.)

Woman you are beautiful!!!! I love the color! And I know all about the hair thing! I need a change bad. Soon I will! I am thinking about doing hot pink streaks under my hair so that you see them when my hair is pulled up. I dunno! I just know the shoulder length chemo curls are boring! :) I am rambling. It’s late. But honey you are stunning!

Thanks so much Allie! I think pink would be really fun to do in your hair, it will be a pain to keep up as it will fade easily. Maybe see if you can get some extension pieces in, like permanent ones. Then they won’t fade, and your maintenance is almost zero :)

I loved it when it was SUPAH red. I super love it now that it’s a little darker.

And to think today I was thinking about going and buying the things to go back to dark. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
