You will have to excuse me, between the Christmas rush and going away on vacation, I feel like I have stepped through a time warp and had my butt kicked. Anyone else feel like December and January have flown by?
That being said, I am SO happy that I decided to book our trip away. We stayed at the Occidental Grand Xcaret, in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Aside from the really small and crowded beach and a hicup with our room, we had a great time there. Amazing food, great staff, beautiful property. Did I mention great food? I made it my personal goal to eat all the fruit the resort could offer, and they stood up to the challenge. Yum.
This trip was different from our last few ones, for example, neither Jason or I are drinking (he gave it up completely last October), and it was the first time we had Marley in tow and were doing nothing but spending time together as a family. It was… refreshing, beautiful and much needed. We decided early on in the week not to do any of the offered day trips, leaving the possibility open to go into Playa Del Carmen, or visit Xcaret for a day.
Well, we did none of that. We stayed on the resort and played at the beach every single day. No schedule, no watch to look at. It.was.glorious.
Sometimes it’s good to get away, reconnect with your spouse and play with your kiddo. It was good for my soul.
And because I am feeling brave today: my massive 25 week bump in a bikini.
